Tony mentioned that the wing covers are getting damaged as people pull them over the wing tips (typically by getting snagged on the wingtip skids) and suggested that the winglets are removed and replaced by the normal tips which we may have to do if there is further damage.
My suggestion is that when you remove the wing covers is to remove the winglet covers separately then concertina each cover up to the tip and over your arm and put them inside the trestle this way (if it is windy clip one or two hooks in to the trestle). When you put the glider away slide the wing cover over your arm, place it over the winglet clear of the wingtip skid then pull it down the wing. You still have to make sure the ailerons are neutral so the covers don’t snag on the ailerons.
